The University of East Anglia is about to begin a study on the effect of chocolate in reducing heart disease in women with type 2 diabetes. 150 women will be needed to eat chocolate daily for a whole year.

Now don’t go out a start buying up chocolate bars just yet because the chocolate off the shelf has all the goodness processed out of it. A Belgian chocolatier has developed a flavanoid rich chocolate for the study and 27 grams will be eaten daily.

Women that have been through menopause will be selected to eat the chocolate daily and still carry on with their cholesterol lowering medication. The chocolate will have added soy compounds as well. .

Despite having millions of poultry slaughtered and many areas under isolation, the outbreak was confirmed at a farm about 235 miles southwest of Seoul. Following preathvious outbreaks between 2006 & 2007, officials had been better prepared.

Several measures have been taken to ensure that the outbreak doesn’t spread, with shipments of birds being put on stand-by and the destruction of eggs. The Bird Flu so far had caused the deaths of 238 people around the world since 2003.

Pakistan has fallen victim to human-to-human bird flu transmission for the first time, with various members of the one family being killed by the virus late last year. The incident, and the way the flu was transmitted, was confirmed by the WHO.

The region was hit by the avian flu virus last year and officials took drastic measures to control the spread of the virus, culling thousands of birds. The father in the family in question was a poultry worker who seems to have passed on the virus.

While he survived, three of his brothers fell victim for the disease. He was the only person in the family to have been in contact with birds.
